The Political Leader of the Movement for Economic Empowerment Dr. Mills Jones has called on Liberians to unite and fight poverty in all forms and manner.
Dr. Jones said poverty continues to undermine Liberia growth and development and wants Liberians to see themselves as the driver of their country destiny.
Dr. Jones was speaking Friday when he formally dedicated the Bong County office of the movement for economic empowerment in Gbarnga.
He noted his tenure at the Central Bank of Liberia ensured the empowerment of ordinary business people around the country and such endeavor remains pivotal on his political agenda for the presidency.
The former Central Bank Governor said “one key way to fight poverty is to equitably distribute the nation resources in order to empower various sectors of the country to enhance the livelihood of the citizens.
“Agriculture is a major driving force of the economy and must be given key attention if Liberians must be lifted out poverty”, Dr. Jones added.
Jones encouraged Liberians to only accept continuity on the basis of performance and not to keep people in power who he said have not performed.
The MOVEE office dedication ceremony was attended by several partisans, sympathizers and well wishers of the Movement for Economic Empowerment.
