Washington – Democratic Party presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has extended her national lead over Republican rival Donald Trump to three percentage points, 43 percent to 40 percent, according to a poll commissioned by Fox News after the candidates’ first debate on Sept. 26.
Clinton’s national advantage is two percentage points higher than in a previous Fox poll on Sept. 15, when the former first lady had 41 percent of voter preference and Trump had 40 percent.
The latest poll, conducted by Anderson Robbins Research and Shaw & Company Research, showed Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson in third place with 8 percent of voter preference and Green Party nominee Jill Stein with 4 percent.
