ctetiivueaafx04-jpg-smallPolice say the girl’s father dropped her off in front P.S. 129 on 7th Avenue in College Point around 8 a.m. Friday. That’s when the man approached the girl and asked where her mother was. Police say the girl ignored him, but the man grabbed her hand and tried to drag her down the street.

She was able to escape and told a teacher what happened.

Parents we spoke with say they’re being more cautious after hearing about the incident.

“We never leave them,” said one woman from the neighborhood. “My grandson takes the bus home and I wait at the bus stop for him because I’m afraid of something like this happening. I won’t let him walk home or anything like that. It’s just really scary that somebody could do this to a little child.”

The man is described as 20 to 30 years old with curly hair.

He was last seen wearing red shorts and a white t-shirt
