Guwahati, August 22: Congress faced another set back after over 10,000 party workers had joined in BJP in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district on August 21.
During a rally organised at Bakuliaghat in the hilly district the Congress workers had joined the saffron party in presence of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC)’s Chief Executive Member (CEM) Tuliram Ronghang, BJP MLA’s Sum Ronghang, Jairam Engleng, Numal Momin.
KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang, who recently joined the saffron party said that now there have no identity of Congress in the hilly district.
“People of Karbi Anglong want change in development issues and BJP led state government will full fill to the people’s aspirations,” Tuliram Ronghang said.
Meanwhile, the BJP MLA Sum Ronghang said in the rally that Karbi Hills will be developed under leadership of Tuliram Ronghang and BJP will get absolute majority in the next council election which will likely to be held on December this year.
