Liberia’s Envoy At The UN Paid Courtesy Call On His Israeli Counterpart

New York, 21st July, 2016, The Permanent Representative of Liberia to the United Nations, His Excellency Ambassador Lewis  G. Brown II, has paid a courtesy call on the Permanent Representative of Israel to the United Nations, His Excellency Ambassador Danny Danon, with a promise by the both diplomats to work cooperatively within the realm of the United Nations to advance the interests of their respective countries.

According to a dispatch from New York, the meeting took place on Thursday,  between the two Ambassadors at the  offices of the Permanent Mission of Israel in Manhattan where Ambassador Brown conveyed on behalf of    the Government and the people of Liberia ,  the greetings to the Government and the people of Israel through its Mission, and said that Liberia cherishes the  cordial relationship that  continues to exist between the two countries.

The Liberian Envoy, while expressing the hope to having good working relationship with his colleague,   informed that the aim of such  interactions would be to strengthen  the level of  existing relationship between Liberia and the State of Israel  and to ensure  that both countries benefit in the manner desired by their respective Governments and people

Speaking further, Ambassador Brown, pointed out that Liberia was interested in more investment opportunities from Israel most especially in the areas of energy sector and technology . He said that Liberia was  in  the process of  the transforming   its  economy, and as such, Israel, given its  wealth of experience in modern technology , could be of assistance to Liberia especially for the  youths  most of whom, according to him lack the skills for emerging  opportunities.

For his part, the Israel Ambassador Danny Danon, expressed delight and appreciation to Ambassador Brown for  the visit and recalled the recent trip by  Her Excellency President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to Israel at which time the both leaders had bilateral discussions. He said that Liberia has been a trusted friend of Israel for  many years , and that his Government counts on Liberia’s support at the global level.

He concluded by saying that Israel is very interested in  strengthening  its relationship with the  continent of Africa which he described as  important partner.
