Those elected are Vice President Joseph N. Boakai, Standard Bearer; Wilmot Paye, National Chairman; Neto Lighe, National Vice Chair and Lenn Eugene Nagbe, Secretary General.

Others are Macaetoh Wreh Tokpah, Chair of the Women Congress; Curtis Dorley, Youth Congress Chairperson and Edmond Forh, National Treasurer.

A total of four hundred and twenty-five delegates from across the country participated in the elections.

Inducting the newly-elected Standard Bearer Saturday morning, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf challenged him to lead the party with diligence and commitment.

The outgoing UP Standard Bearer noted that she is optimistic that with Vice President Boakai’s level of experience, he is capable to lead the party and move on with the national development agenda of Liberia.

Meanwhile, President Sirleaf has described the 2016 UP Convention as “successful” and lauded the chairperson of the convention committee, Bong County Representative Prince Moye and other committee members for “a job well done.”
