{VOA NEWS}- President Barack Obama will cut short a trip to Europe and travel next week to Dallas, Texas, where a deadly ambush left five policemen dead, the White House said Friday.

Obama, who is in Poland for a NATO summit, will return to Washington on Sunday night, a day earlier than planned and eliminating a stop in Seville, Spain, the White House said in a statement.

Obama called the shootings a “vicious, calculated and despicable attack” on officers who were performing their jobs. He ordered American flags be lowered to half-staff at the White House and on all public buildings and grounds for four days in honor of the dead and wounded. READ MORE OF THIS REPORT
