Five persons have been seriously injured in a group fight as a result of a land dispute in Zorzor District, Lofa County.
The incident occurred recently between residents of Kpazagizia and Wakesu towns over a piece of land which citizens of Wakesu Town have used over the years for farming activities.
According to the citizens of Kpazagizia Town, who spoke to the Liberia News Agency, they had warned Wakesu citizens to vacate the land in question but to no avail, leading to the fight.
Police officers assigned in Zorzor immediately responded to the violence and restored calm in the area.
Meanwhile, Zorzor District Commissioner Henry Wolobah and other local officials have ordered citizens of Kpazagizia and Wakesu towns to keep off the disputed piece of land until proper investigation is conducted.
