LIBERIA: Man, 24, Charged With Negligent Homicide In Death Of Son

HANDCUFFGBARNGA, June 20 (LINA) -The Bong County Detachment of the Liberia  National Police has charged a 24-year-old man with negligent homicide in the death of his two-year-old son.

Little Chris Johnson went missing on June 13 and was found dead two days later in  the Jor Creek in Gbarnga.

The mother of the child, Grace Massah Wonwoe, told Police investigators that she left the child with his father Philip Johnson and went to the creek to check his fishing hook when the child went missing.

A forensic team from the Crime Services Department later visited the scene and observed that the child got drowned while following his mother to the creek.

According to Police records, a 15-man Coronary Jury that examined the body reported no foul play and no body parts extracted, but Johnson was charged because of his negligence that led to the death of the child.

Meanwhile, Johnson has been forwarded to the Gbarnga Magisterial Court for prosecution.
