The Supreme Court decision was based upon a petition filed before the court by Brown’s lawyer Cllr. Fredrick Cheue asking the court to reinstate Brown to practice law in the country after the 60 days suspension expired.
According to the high court, Cllr. Brown was suspended for reversing the decision of the Supreme Court by proceeding with the hearing of a case in which the court had ordered the Judge not to proceed.
The Judge, Yusuf Kaba, was also suspended by the Supreme Court for 30 days without pay.
The high court termed their action to be ‘unethical to the rule of law.’
Cllr. Brown is one of Liberia’s respected human rights advocates.
