Vice President Joseph Nyumah Boakai has urged Cabinet Ministers to exert their energies and focus on completing tangible, achievable and attainable development projects in the next 20 months.
Speaking to journalists at the close of a two-day Cabinet Retreat convened by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in her hometown Julijuah in Bomi County on Friday, VP Boakai said though their presentations at the meeting were good, it was time that they get to the achievable.
“The Liberian people want to see things happening and as such, it is about time that those holding key positions in the government nail down the specifics to leave behind a legacy that the Liberian people will always remember this government for,” Boakai stressed.
He admonished the Cabinet Ministers to ensure that ongoing development projects discussed at the retreat be implemented because what comes out of government operations should make significant impact on the lives of the ordinary citizens.
The Vice President is, however, calling for the establishment of a national monitoring and evaluation committee to ensure the execution of all the deliverables earmarked by the government before it leaves power.
President Sirleaf will leave power in January 2018 at the end of two six-year terms.
