The Kakata Magisterial Court has charged a 43- year-old man with aggravated, involuntary sodomy for allegedly sexually abusing a 17-year-old boy in Kakata, Margibi County.
According to the writ of arrest, the charge was based upon a complaint filed by the victim's father that defendant James Baysah on November 25seduced his 17-year-old son to enter his room where he forcefully sodomized him.
The writ said after committing the act, defendant Baysah threatened the victim that he would ensure that he does not pass to the next grade in the school if he divulged what had happened to anyone.
According to the writ, the defendant did commit the act of “involuntary, aggravated sodomy” in contravention of the New Penal Code of Liberia.
Defendant Baysah is a classroom teacher at the Lango Lippaye High School in Kakata and other schools.
He has been detained at the Kakata Central Prison pending court trial.
