LIBERIA: Supreme Court Orders Mary Broh To Suspend Presidential Mandate

The Supreme Court has ordered General Services Agency (GSA) Director General Mary Broh to immediately suspend implementation of the Presidential Task Force mandate to keep Monrovia clean.

Supreme Court Justice-in-Chamber Kabineh Ja’neh also mandated Broh to appear in his Chamber on December 7 for a conference in connection with a petition for a writ of prohibition filed against her by some aggrieved citizens.

In the writ of prohibition filed against Broh, the citizens indicated that their properties have been illegally destroyed by the Presidential Task Force in the name of giving Monrovia and its environs a face-lift.

According to the petition, Broh’s action violates their constitutional rights, and called on Chamber Justice Ja’neh to have the matter forwarded to the full bench of the Supreme Court to decide whether or not Broh’s action was consistent with law.
