The President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, has sent a condolence message to the Government and People of the Republic of Mali following a terrorist attack, which occurred at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Bamako, Mali. The attack resulted into the deaths of than nineteen (19) persons and injured several others.
In her message to Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, President Johnson Sirleaf, on behalf of the Government and
People of Liberia, and in her own name, extended heartfelt condolences to President Keita, and through him, to the Government and People of Mali, especially the bereaved families, for the irreparable loss sustained as a result of the tragic incident.
While expressing her deepest sympathy to her Malian counterpart and the Government and People of Mali, President Johnson Sirleaf stated, “It is with profound shock and sorrow that we have learned of the odious terrorist attack, which occurred at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Bamako, Mali leading to more than 19 deaths and several injuries.”
President Johnson Sirleaf assured Mali that Liberia will join other peace loving nations in condemning this act of terrorism perpetrated in Mali and at the same time call for global and regional cooperation and action in bringing an end to this barbarity against humanity.
The Liberian President then prayed that the Almighty Allah will grant President Keita and the People of Mali strength, courage and fortitude as they go through this difficult period of national mourning.
