The political leader of the opposition Liberty Party (LP) has welcomed recent move made by the United States Government to lift economic sanctions on Liberians who over the years were blocked of free economic assess over the years.
A statement from the party quoting Cllr. Charles W. Brumskine as saying the Lifting Of Economic Sanctions On Liberia By The United States Government; Encourages Liberians To Embrace Reconciliation.
The LP political leader said, “It is pleasing to note the determination of the United States of America that Liberia has made significant advances toward the promotion of democracy and the orderly development of its political, administrative, and economic institutions.”
He said it is especially worth noting that the actions of some of our fellow Liberians no longer pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the foreign policy of the United States, the West African Region, and the international community at large, as well as to our own country.
The challenge, however, remains for us as Liberians, to not only maintain the status quo, but also to reconcile all Liberians, ensuring that the dividends of peace and the resources of our country are employed for the benefit of all.
In a related development, Cllr. Brumskine has signed the Book of Condolence in solidarity with the people of France for the tragic terror attacks on Paris.
