The Government of Liberia says it supports the President of the Liberia Football Association (LFA), Mr. Musa Hassan Bility, in his bid to become president of the world’s football governing body, FIFA.
Information Minister Lewis G. Brown said now that Mr. Bility has been qualified as a candidate, he is a representative of Liberia and must enjoy the support of all Liberians.
LFA President Bility was recently qualified as a candidate to contest the Presidency of the world’s football governing body, the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA).
Addressing the Ministry’s weekly press briefing on Tuesday, Minister Brown urged Liberians to consider this ambition of a fellow Liberian as a rallying point to bring all Liberians together and lift the national spirit.
The Information Minister also commended a young Liberian, Abraham Keita, for winning the International Children Peace Award.
The 17-year-old Keita was named winner of the award for his advocacy for justice for children who are victims of physical and sexual violence.
Minister Brown told the press that Bility and Keita added to the achievements made by other Liberians to give the country a new face.
He recalled that few years back, the name Liberia was synonymous to conflict and bloodletting, which, he said, has now changed.
