LIBERIA: Children’s ‘Kidnappers’ On the Increase, As 2017 Election Draws Closer

Parents and guardians of school going kids are in worry as the kidnaping of children in Liberia has gone to its highest peak with report of missing children for the alleged use of ritualistic   purposes by people who are craving for highest positions in the upcoming general and presidential for 2017.

Several persons in the township of Brewerville, outside Monrovia are reportedly helping the police for their alleged connection to the kidnapping of children who were on their way from school in the township.

One of the alleged kidnappers, according was arrested when he had gone to one of the schools pretending of been a relative of a students at one of the schools in the township. His arrest was prompted when the child alarmed.  

Including Montserrado and its environs, reports from our Correspondent in Margibi, Bomi, and Bong Counties also said the children are been missing in that part of the country on a daily basis, with local police in those counties have reportedly launched a serious hunt for those perpetrators involve in this heinous crime.

Our Correspondent said information received from these counties speak of individuals believed to be poverty-stricken Liberians mostly youth and the elderly have been paid huge sum of money from unknown people seeking for positions in the upcoming 2017 general and presidential elections and are seeking for human part for ritualistic purpose.

Residents of the city of Monrovia and its environs have been alarmed that they should be mindful of their children moving alone in their communities as people who have been given assignments to kidnap people’s children are rooming about in many communities of city, and its environs.
