The Monrovia City Court at the Temple of Justice has incarcerated a 24 year-old woman at the Monrovia Central Prison on charges of Unlicensed Sale and Distribution of Controlled Drugs.

Defendant Alice Toe, a resident of the Fiamah Sinkor Community, was on September 20 arrested by a team from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) in  New George Estate Plumkor Community with 73.9grams of Heroin valued at US$2,450.00 or LD$ 208,250.00 and 889.9 grams of Precursor used to process narcotic drugs valued US$ 8,890.00 or its equivalent of LD$755,650.00.

The DEA charge sheet indicated that defendant Toe was selling the drug for her boyfriend, a Nigerian national identified as Jeff Bigi Oyee and that he rented a room in New Georgia Estate which she used to transact business.

The charge sheet further said that the drug was discovered in the bathroom of the defendant concealed in an iron box through an intelligence tip-off received by the DEA officers.
During police investigation, the defendant admitted being in possession of the drugs, but said she did not know that her boyfriend was involved in drug business.

The defendant is awaiting court trial.
