Liberian tailors will for the first time participate in an African Union-organized fashion show in Paris on November 21, 2015.
Liberia’s Fashion Ambassador Kimma Wreh of the Liberian International Fashion Designers based in Houston, Texas in the U.S. will represent Liberia at the event which will be held at the prestigious Selle Wagram in Paris.
According to Lansana Dawon, President of the Liberia National Tailors, Textiles, Garment and Workers Union (LNTTGAWU) ,Wreh will be joined by 15 other Liberians from the Tailors Union, Arts and Crafts and Culture Union to participate in the trade fair.
Addressing the Information Ministry press briefing at the ministry Tuesday, Dawon said an array of government officials, including the Assistant Minister of Cultural Affairs, Louise W. McMillian and Assistant Minister for Tourism, Jacqueline Capehart, will accompany Wreh to the event.
He noted that the program will bring together African, American, European and Asian fashion designers who will exhibit their products during the show.
