Liberian National Police Arrests Several Armed Robbers

Liberia National Police(LNP) Spokesman Sam Collins  has disclosed that the LNP over the last two weeks arrested several hard-core armed robbers in Monrovia and other parts
of the country.

He identified two notorious criminals arrested during the operation as James Logan,  AKA Survivor Drag and James  Harries, AKA  CEO .He said the arrest of the armed robbers was part of the Police
operation geared towards clearing various communities of armed robbers.

In an interview with the Liberia News Agency at the LNP headquarters on Capitol Hill in Monrovia Thursday, Collins said the arrests were due to various mechanisms put in place to bring the robbers to justice
and restore sanity in communities where armed robbers have been harassing peaceful citizens.

According to the Police Spokesman, the robbers are mostly youths between the ages of 18 to 25 years who have been using deadly weapons to rob their victims.

Collins indicated that some of the officers from the Anti-Robbery Unit were shot at by the robbers while escaping the crime scene in central Monrovia. He said this will however in no way deter the police in its
drive to protect the lives and properties of peaceful citizens.

Meanwhile, Collins has warned the public that it will not tolerate anyone firing at its officers during the discharge of their functions, saying the police will robustly respond to such attacks.
