LIBERIA: U.S. Envoy Writes ‘Hot Pepper’ On Obama Passing On List To Nigerian Leader Of Corrupt African Leaders

The Ambassador of the United States Embassy accredited to Liberia has written the Managing Editor of the Independent Hot Pepper Newspaper,  Jah Johnson expressing her Government’s  exception to a  banner headline published in his paper on August 3, 2015 noting that United States  President, Barack Obama has released a list of Corrupt African leaders to Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari during his recent US visit.

In an official  letter to the paper’s Editor, US Ambassador to Liberia, Madam Debora Malac said, “I read with dismay  your August 3 article alleging that that US President Barack Obama has passed a list of corrupt African officials to Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari  during a recent visit,” the US envoy to the paper continue.

The letter further stressed, “No single journalist contacted U.S. Embassy Monrovia to check the veracity of the story or ask for comment. Our response would have been unequivocal. There is no factual basis for these stories. No such list was passed to President Buhari.  There is no list for Liberia,” Ambassador Malac to the paper said.
