LIBERIA: Defense Minister’s Son Caught With Firearms, Hit Police Officer On His Forehead

The son of Liberia’s Defense Minister, Brownie Samukai has reportedly injury seriously a police officer with his ’45 Magnum Rifer’  on his forehead with ‘impunity’.

Mr. Mark Samokai, according to report aired on a local radio station today has not been arrested for his possession of firearms without it been registered by the Liberian Government through the Commission of Small Arms.

According to report, his victim, the police officer was performing his official duties directing traffic at a checkpoint in Monrovia when the incident occurred.

For the son of the Defense Minister to be in possession of illegal firearms and not been arrested by the Liberia National Police, and also wounding a member of the police, dozens of callers on local radio talk shows this morning condemned the action of Mark Samukai.

The callers also called on the Liberia National Police ‘with immediate effect’ arrest Mr. Samukai, the son of the Liberian Defense Minister for prosecution.

Effort to get the Public Relations Officer of the Liberia National Police, Mr. Sam Collins did not materialize as his mobile phone rang endlessly.
