LIBERIA: Charles Taylor’s Wife Condemns Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s Gov’t Says Husband’s Gov’t Was Better

Senator Jewel Howard Taylor, wife of former Liberian leader, Charles Taylor has criticized the Unity Party led Government of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for its failure to unite the people of Liberia since its ascendency to power.

Senator Taylor in a local radio talk show said accused President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of catering to only those she preferred to be in her government, and refused to realize the importance role played by the opposition political parties.

“This Government has failed to unite the Liberian people since it came to power. The Government of my husband, Charles Taylor did well as compared to this Government. We as a Government at that time helped to unite our people, but not this government of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf,” Senator Taylor told the Truth Breakfast Show today.

Effort to get a response from the Liberian Government through the Minister of Information, Lewis Brown proved unsuccessful as the Minister’s phone rang endlessly.

However, this outlet will still get the side of the government in our subsequent posting.
