The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning has forwarded 74 copies of the Financial Statement of the Consolidated Fund Account Quarter Three for Fiscal Year 2014/2015 to members of the House of Representatives for perusal.
The Public Financial Management Act provides that the Ministry is responsible for the control and accounting of the Consolidated Fund and all other public funds received, held and expended on behalf of the Government of Liberia.
The Finance and Development Planning Ministry has also served unedited Financial Accounts copies of the National Budget to the National Legislature for onward submission to the Auditor General.
A letter to House Chief Clerk Mildred Wisseh dated May 26and signed by Acting Finance and Development Planning Minister James F. Kollie, states, “Under the provisions of same Act, we are required to prepare unedited Financial Accounts of the National Budget to be submitted to the Auditor General, four months after the end of the Fiscal Year to which it relates”.
The letter was read in Session on Thursday and noted.
