LIBERIA: Gedeh Council Allots US$3.1m For Development

The Grand Gedeh County Development Council hasappropriated US$3.1 million for development across the county.

Making the disclosure to the Liberia News Agency in Zwedru recently, Grand Gedeh County Superintendent Peter Solo said the money will be directed mainly towards outstanding projects identified in previous meetings.

The projects include construction and operational cost of the Gedeh Community College, repair of earth-moving equipment and opening up of major and feeder roads across the county.

Other projects targeted are support to midwifery as well as the county administration which include all statutory and administrative districts.

Supt. Solo assured citizens of the full implementation of these projects as soon as the funds are disbursed into the county’s development account by the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP).

Solo told LINA that the decision was reached at the Grand Gedeh County Social Development Council meeting held in the county recently which brought together stakeholders of the county.

He described the just-ended CSDC meeting as successful, noting that strategies have been put into place for the smooth and speedy implementation of major development projects for the betterment of the people of Grand Gedeh.
