Liberian Red Cross Gives Anti-Ebola Items To Ghanaians In Cestos City

CESTOS CITY, March 30 (LINA) -The Rivercess Chapter of the Liberia National Red Cross Society (LNRCS) has distributed hand-washing buckets for Ebola prevention to over 80 homes in the Fanti Town Community in Cestos City, Rivercess County.

During the distribution exercise, the Red Cross Rivercess Chapter Officer Emmanuel B. Dolo urged the Fanti community to use the materials for the intended purpose, and pledged the organization’s support in working with the Fanti and other communities to contain the spread of Ebola.

In remarks, Fanti Chief Nana Buffue noted that the Ghanaian community in Cestos City had hitherto been marginalized in the distribution of Ebola preventive materials since the outbreak of the virus in 2014.

Baffue then lauded the Red Cross for its humanitarian gesture, noting that the gesture will always be remembered by every Ghanaian resident in the city.

Earlier, Cestos City Mayor Sarah M. Zeo described the gesture by the Red Cross as a bold step in ending Ebola.
