Residents of Sanniquellie have raised L$56,620 and building materials to complete a modern community radio station project.
The Manager of Radio Sehnwai, Lawrence Tokpah, put the cost of the project at US$19,000.
He disclosed that the community also donated 34 bags of cement, 65 pieces of wood and a digital camera to the project.
At the recent rally held at the Ministry Post and Telecommunication office in Sanniquellie, Tokpah said the management of the station has completed the foundation and needs the support of the community to lift the walls.
“In 2014, the community for the first time generated more than L$90,000 to embark on the construction of this modern studio, which is expected to be completed this year,” Tokpah pointed out.
The program was attended by District #2 Representative Prince Tokpah; County Education Officer Wleh T Sailah and Post and Telecommunications Minister Frederick Norkeh.
