LIBERIA: Following News Of Reduction In Ebola Attack, Govovernment Recalls Staff To Work

Information Minister Lewis Brown has disclosed that President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has directed ministries and agencies to begin recalling some of their non-essential staff to work due to decline in the number of new Ebola cases.

Minister Brown, speaking Monday at the Ministry of Information daily Ebola press conference in Monrovia, noted that such decision will be left at the discretion of the heads of ministries and agencies.

Brown further indicated that other non-essential staff will return to work based on progress made in the fight against Ebola.

The government announced early July a compulsory stay-home order of “non-essential staff” as part of measures to decongest public offices to help contain the spread of the Ebola virus.
