Acarous Gray of District #8 and Thomas Fallah of District # 5
Two Montserrado County Representatives were on Tuesday ordered out of session for disturbance.
Acarous Gray of District #8 and Thomas Fallah of District # 5 were escorted out of the session by the Sergeant-At-Arms upon the instruction of Deputy Speaker Hans Barchue, who presided over the session, following fruitless attempts to control their deportment.
According to the Liberia News Agency (LINA), the two lawmakers’ actions followed the reading of a letter from the Liberian Senate concurring with the House on the Emergency Spending Authority request passed recently.
Following the reading of the communication, a motion was made for Plenary to note the instrument, something Gray and Fallah objected to.
They called for the reading in session of the document to which the Liberian Senate had concurred, but Barchue and other representatives argued that it was not necessary since the instrument originated from the House.
This did not go down well with Gray and Fallah who continued to propound their points or views amidst calls to them to cease the argument.
They termed the manner in which the Deputy Speaker was handling the proceeding as a “procedural error”.
