LIBERIA: PPCC Boss Smells Dismissal, Quickly Submits Resignation Letter

The Head of the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC), Madam Peggy Varfley Meres has reportedly resigned her position after hearing that a letter of her dismissal was in the making by the Liberian leader, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for some administrative reason.

Over the past months the resigned PPCC boss has been in the center of debatable complaints from several entities and individuals of her Commission’s failure to promptly process procurement reports.

Recently a Special Three-Member Committee and Board of Commissioners was set up on the operation and activities of the PPCC Secretariat, this committee submitted its report to the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the PPCC, Prof. Willie Belleh.

In that report, which is being highlighted below spoke of lots of pitfalls on the part of Madam Meres, and also made several recommendations:
