The National Chairman of the opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), George Solo has again criticized the Legislature and the Executive, calling members of both branches of the Liberian Government as ‘Criminals” who cannot be trusted in any way.
The CDC National Chairman was speaking Monday to reporters in Monrovia in reaction to report that the Liberian Government had spent over US$200m on public relations abroad, and that the Legislators were planning to launch an investigation into the usage of the money.
Mr. Solo in a rather frustrated state of mind said, “Criminals cannot investigate criminals”, and libeled members of both branches (The Legislature and the Executive) as criminals, who he said cannot be trusted by the Liberian people.
This is not the first time that the National Chairman of the CDC to accuse the National Legislature of been thieves and criminals.
Last year, 2013, Mr. Solo named members of the legislature as ‘Brown Envelope Holders’ who he said were using their respective elected positions as Representatives and Senators to rob the Liberian people by enriching themselves at the detriment of the poor.
This statement drew huge controversial amongst Liberians who anticipated that the lawmakers who have debunk the allegation made against them by the CDC National Chairman, now again he is calling them criminals. This question that flips the lip of many is, will they response to his allegation?
