Alexander H.N. Wallace, III, Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia to the Arab Republic of Egypt had a meeting with H.E. Nabil Habashi, Chief of Protocol of the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on February 3, 2014.
Ambassador Wallace conveyed greetings on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Liberia to the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The Liberian Ambassador raised concerns over complaints received from ordinary Liberian citizens regarding passage at the Cairo International Airport but the Chief of Protocol affirmed that it is just a normal security scrutiny applied to all foreign nationals.
The two dignitaries then spoke lengthily on bilateral agreements between the two countries. Ambassador Wallace informed the Chief of Protocol that too many government documents including bilateral agreements were ravaged during the past Liberian civil crisis. He requested, from the Egyptian authorities, copies of all bilateral agreements signed between both nations since the evolution of the Liberian Republic.
Finally, as proposed by Ambassador Wallace, both dignitaries welcomed the idea to meet regularly on a quarterly basis.
