I-Help Liberia Project Science Research and Education Workshop Opens Today
Dozens of science and chemistry professors and instructors from the University of Liberia including its medical college, the Liberian Women in Science and science instructors from the Booker Washington Institute (BWI) today gathered at the University of Liberia's Auditorium for the start of a 10-day workshop on Science Research and Education.
The visiting American Science Professors arrived in the country last week for the workshop includes Dr. Adam Cohen, Ben Rapport both from Harvard University, and Ms. Elizabeth Wood thrilled the participants with their professional expertise in the area of science and technology.
The workshop which will run from the 10th of June to the 25th at the end of it will enable the participants to acquire vast training from the American Scientists, and in return impart similar knowledge to their students at their various science colleges and institutions here in Liberia.
Due to the importance of this workshop, other individuals from different professional background took up their busy schedule to be part of this unique gathering.
Earlier, the President of the University of Liberia, Dr. Emmett Dennis who briefly walked into the University’s Auditorium while the workshop facilitators were making their presentation to the participants, praised the American Scientists for the initiative.
Dr. Dennis chatting with Dr. Cohen and the rest of the facilitators praised the efforts of the visiting young American Scientists, noting, “We are indeed grateful to your guys …..We will talk; there is a need that we sit together for us to talk. We have something for you,” Dr. Dennis appreciating the team said.
