GNN Liberia is operated by a Liberian journalist Mr. J. Cholo Brooks, who previously worked for the BBC African Service for over a decade, and publishes one of Liberia 's  Weeklies, The Star Newspaper.

Mr. Brooks is also a regular contributor to dozens of websites around the world, and is a full member of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) since 1983. He is currently serving on the Union's Membership Committee, and is one of the contact persons for the Committee to Protect Journalists, a U.S. based rights group. He is also a member of a US based Concerned Committee of Journalists.
