As Sirleaf withdraws two INHRC’s nominees, Tough-Talking’ Dempster Brown Speaks Out
President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has withdrawn the nomination of two central figures of the Independent National Human Rights Commission, Chairperson-designate Counselor Punchu Leonard Bernard and Dempster Brown names were withdrew from the list submitted to the Liberian senate for confirmation.

Former interim president and now Chairman of the Governance Commission, Dr. Amos Sawyer, say local authorities of the country must be elected, therefore, an amendment of article 54 of the Liberian Constitution must be adhered to in order to give way for the election of these local officials to be elected by their people.
As the much expected 2011 general and presidential elections draw near, the political leader of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) has boastfully declared that with the kind of good team he has on board he can do better than President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in terms of the country’s economy and development.
“I will never forgive this government, for breaking down my house that I built with my hard earned money over the years just because of development. I will never forgive those behind this ugly act,” a frustrated Liberian, 56, whose house was rolled over by yellow machine in a bid to given Monrovia a facelift tearfully told reporters as he looked at officials of the Ministry of Public Works given instruction for the demolition.
