Following report on local radio station, the Fabric, of a teen surviving kidnapping attempt her for alleged ritualistic purposes in Bomi County, the Liberia National Police says it has begun investigating the report.

“The Liberia National Police has commenced active investigation into reports of an alleged kidnapping of a 13 year old resident of Bomi County identified as Fatu Kiazolu.
According to LNP’s Women and Children investigator in Gbah, Jacket, Bomi County, on October 7, 2021 at 7:30 PM, the victim was sent by her by mother, Massa Kiazolu to sell fish and chicken feet when she (the victim) came across two unidentified men who tied her two hands and legs and placed cloth in her mouth and took her to an unfinished building around the Pastor John Tarnue Mission School, Zone Six Community.
Narrating her ordeal to investigators, the 13 year old victim revealed that the unknown men escaped after hearing some community residents coming around the location that she was taken.
Our investigators, after arriving on the scene of the incident took the victim to the God Gift Community Clinic in Gbah Jacket, where she was treated, discharged and turned over to her parents.
An active investigation is ongoing and a vigorous search is also on going in identifying the whereabouts of the alleged kidnappers.
The public is urged to remain calm, as all is being done to ensure that the perpetrators are arrested and made to face the full weight of the law.
Members of the public, especially those in Gbah, Jacket, Senjeh District, Bomi County are urged to assist LNP investigators with any useful information which will lead to the arrest of these perpetrators.
The LNP also urges Social Media pundits who have any useful information about said incident to help Police in arresting these perpetrators”, the statement of the police noted.
