Another Liberian, Lawrence Davies has reportedly gone missing after he was reportedly asked by his friend identified as Jack Toe to join him on a fishing speed boat for a contract, the speed boat is said to be owned by a Canadian national in Monrovia.
According to the wife of the missing person, Jacklyn Davies who spoke to the GNN in tears said her husband left home on Thursday morning of this week for a contract with a friend also identified as Jacob Toe.
Mrs. Davies explaining her nightmare to the GNN via mobile phone, said prior to the incident that her husband was missing, he called her and said, “We are about the arrive on shore, please prepare my food and hot water to bath when I get home,” but Mrs. Davies said to her surprise someone drove at her home in Johnsonville on motorbike to inform her that her husband had died.
According to her, the man who came on the bike told her that husband drown as a result of the boat they were onboard capsize and Lawrence Davies is missing with others, but unfortunately when she and others arrived at the Brewerville Police Depot to report the case, those who were told missing alone with her husband were seen at the police station.
According to her, some of her community members including a local pastor, Ben Carter were on their way to the police station to ascertain the facts surrounding reported missing of her husband.
However, source closed to the police depot via mobile phone said the incident took place around the Hotel Africa belt around 4am Friday morning when the propeller of the boat was hitched with fishing net, a situation that reportedly led the boat to capsize leaving all the occupants (4) to drown, three were able to survive while Lawrence Davies who could not make it reportedly died in the process. According to our source, further information is said to be ongoing.
The victim previously served the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) engineering department, and later joined the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency prior to his demise.
