LIBERIA: “We Will Remain With You” – Women Of Bassa Assures Nyonblee Kanger Lawrence’s Reelection

A group under the banner “What The Women Say” has publicly endorsed the candidacy of Senator Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence’s second term bid.

According to their endorsement statement read on Sunday, October 18 at the Unification Pavilion, Nyonblee is the lone female Senator at the Liberian Senate and she will be retained due to the leadership exhibited by her over the years.

They mentioned in their statement that the developments carried out by Senator Lawrence such as the construction of markets across the county, scholarship to students, assistance to some public school teachers, distribution of hospital beds at hospitals in Liberia, and her stand on issues at the Liberian Senate, amongst others, are key factors prompting their decision.

The Statement explained that Senator Lawrence is a mother who has always played a motherly role in the county and country at large, stating that she needs to be maintained at the Senate.

The group drew huge crowd on Sunday, October 18, 2020 also cautions the entire citizenry of Bassa to rally around Senator Lawrence for the forwardness of the county.

Receiving the endorsement statement, Senator Lawrence who is also Liberty Party Political Leader expressed gratitude to the group for standing with her.

She said the women of the county have always stood by her, retrospection on the deaths of her husband Adolph Lawrence and her political godfather Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine.

Mrs. Lawrence stated that when both personalities passed the women and people of Bassa consoled her and they are the brains behind her strength.

The Senator also pointed out that when people trust you, there’s a need to uphold the trust and confidence reposed in you, adding that she will continue on the rightful trajectory of leadership.

She used the medium and called on the men of Bassa to join hands with the women and support her second term bid.
