VOINJAMA, July 30 (LINA) – The   Incident Management Team of Lofa County has recorded 43 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus in the county.

Making the disclosure at the Lofa County Incident Management Team regular meeting in Voinjama on Wednesday, the Surveillance Officer at the County Health Team (CHT), Alpha Tamba, said the 43 cases were confirmed with ten deaths, while three persons are currently in treatment centers in the county.

Mr. Tamba disclosed that eight of the confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported in Voinjama District, 25 in Foya District, nine in Zorzor District and one in Kolahun District.

He indicated that some people in the county are still denying the existence of the deadly virus, thus causing an increase in the number of cases.

He pointed out that until people realize the existence of the COVID-19 and that it kills and continue to follow all health protocols outlined by authorities, the fight against the spread of the virus will remain a serious challenge.

Meanwhile, Tamba is urging the people of Lofa County to buttress the efforts of health authorities and the World Health Organization (WHO) to contain the Coronavirus by washing their hands, using face masks regularly, and observing social distancing in order to stop the spread of the virus.
