Man, 37, reportedly shot dead on Liberia’s Independence Day In Buchanan

A man believed to be in his 30s, and identified as Sakou Kamara was reportedly shot dead in Buchanan City early Tuesday morning, July 28, 2020.

The lifeless corpse of the victim was seen lying in a pool of blood at Monrovia Junction with portion of his head burst.

Eyewitnesses confirmed to our reporter that the late Sakou Kamara was a driver for a popular Businessman identified as Rufus Wesley who is also the owner of the ‘ Place to Be Bar and Restaurant ‘ in Buchanan.

Joseph Payne, a by stander told GNN that the victim was at the Place to Be Bar and Restaurant on the 27 of July celebrating Liberia’s Independence Day.

“I saw Sakou Kamara last night at the entertainment center, we all were celebrating together but I was shocked to have heard that his body was discovered early this morning. The government needs to do something because the mysterious killing of people in Grand Bassa County which is on the increase”, Payne speaking to the GNN noted.

According to a fifteen man jury, the man in question was shot in the head by some unknown men. For his part, Rufus Wesley, Owner of ‘Place To Be Bar and Restaurant confirmed to our reporter that the late Sakou Kamara was his driver.

He mentioned that the victim was at his place on the Monday , July 27 celebrating with friends Liberia’s Independence Day, “Sakou Kamara has been my driver for a very long time ; he was at my place last night but he later told me he was leaving and so I give him LRD $600.00 as a pocket change. I was stunned when I was called at 4AM hearing that he was shot by unknown men “, he told our reporter in a rather mourning state of mind.

He asserted that the victim was always known as a man who was always in the habit of fighting people; this has been his usual habit. Another thing that had been  Sakou’s problem was challenging people. He was released from prison recently for fighting someone and now his corpse has been discovered “, Wesley in a chat with the GNN said.

He asserted that the mysterious killing of people in the County is gradually on the increasing,  something he said needs government intervention.

The corpse of the victim was turned over to the family  for preservation as the investigation is ongoing.

It can be record a month ago, Muhammad Carlos Kuyateh was murdered in Buchanan, an investigation which is still ongoing up to present.
