Tedros Adhanom,
Director General of the World Health Organization, gave the assurance, strongly condemning the French professors.

– The World Health Organisation has cautioned governments against the use of Madagascar’s proposed cure for the coronavirus

– Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina has been promoting the herbal drink that allegedly cures Covid-19 patients within 10 days

– South African scientists will conduct a scientific analysis of the herb in a bid to prove its efficacy

Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina caused a global stir when he claimed his country had been able to produce a cure to combat the dreaded coronavirus.

The Covid-Organics drink includes artemisia and other herbs indigenous to the island nation.

The Madagascan government aims to distribute the mixture throughout Africa, with claims of Covid-19 patients recovering within 10 days of consumption.

Consignments have already been shipped to several African states and countries such as Tanzania are next in line.

However, the World Health Organization (WHO) has cautioned against its use until its efficacy has been tested.

WHO Africa Director Matshidiso Moeti said, “”We would caution and advise countries against adopting a product that has not been taken through tests to see its efficacy.”

SowetanLIVE reported that Health Minister Zweli Mkhize confirmed that local scientists would be assisting Madagascar with a scientific analysis of the herb.
