COVID-19 : Dr. Kromah Warns Against Stigmatization, Discrimination Of Patients In Southeastern Liberia

As medical authorities in the country doing all to battle the deadly Coronavirus or COVID-19 which has globally taken thousands, the Chief of Medical Staff at the Martha Tubman Memorial Hospital in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County, Dr. Varmuyan A. Kromah has seriously warned the public against stigmatization and discrimination of Covid-19 patients.

Dr. Kromah who is also the Secretary General of the I-Help Liberia Medical Incorporated, in an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic is said to be working tirelessly with the Grand Gedeh County Health Team as head of Covid-19 case management team is providing health education on the transmission and prevention of Coronavirus disease in the weekly IMS meeting as a means of educating the public the danger this disease imposes.

Speaking to the GNN via mobile phone, Dr. Kromah also confirmed that the County presently has had two suspected cases of Covid-19 who were later proven negative on 2 separate tests conducted by the reference lab in Monrovia.

During the discharge of these patients on April 12, Dr. KROMAH warned the public against stigmatization and discrimination of Covid-19 patients and reemphasized the importance of hand hygiene & respiratory hygiene in the prevention of Covid-19 among other things.
