Palm Spring Resort Accused Of ‘Defrauding Gov’t’ – Rep Snowe Says The Resort Over-Billed NPHIL

Rep Edwin Melvin Snowe

Bomi County Representative, Edwin Melvin Snowe has publicly accused the management of Palm Spring Resort in Monrovia for its alleged role in defrauding the Liberian Government through the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) by allegedly overbilling the institution for services rendered.

Addressing his colleagues during Thursday, April 16, 2020 regular session at the Capitol Building, the Bomi County lawmaker quoting the Director General of the NPHIL during his live broadcast on the Truth FM Breakfast Show, said the Palm Spring Resort  Management has overbilled the Liberian government through NPHIL for 60 rooms instead of 30 rooms that were been used to quarantined some of the affected individuals with the COVID-19.

Representative Snowe speaking further informed his colleagues that the recording which is  with the station has clearly stated that the management of Palm Spring has overcharged the government of Liberia requesting for payment of services rendered for 30 rooms and asking for payment of 60 rooms.

In order to verify this information, a team of GNN went over to Palm Spring Resort in Congo Town, but unfortunately none of the staff were willing to speak to our staff as they were told that the Manager of the Resort was out of office.
