(New York, October 1, 2019) His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia, has encouraged staff of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Liberia to the United Nations and the Consulate General of the Republic of Liberia in New York, to continue to work together to promote the image of Liberia in the United States.
During a meeting with the staff, on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the Seventy-fourth Session of the United Nations General Assembly (74th UNGA) in New York, President Weah said it was important that all staff members despite political affiliation continue to work as a team to ensure the success of the Government and development of the Country.
President Weah said effective and positive representation would continue to attract donors and investors and bring development to Liberia that will benefit not just the Government, but all citizens and inhabitants.
The Liberian Leader appreciated the staff for their service to the Nation, and said that he was satisfied with the level of organization, coordination and cohesiveness exhibited during the High-Level week of the 74th United Nations General Assembly.
President Weah also used the meeting to thank His Excellency Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr., Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of Liberia to the United Nations, for his able Leadership and representation of Liberia at the United Nations; stressing that Ambassador Kemayah is “a good man”.
Speaking earlier, Ambassador Kemayah thanked His Excellency President Weah for his “exceptional participation in the High-Level week of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly”; stressing that “world Leaders, Liberians and other nationals were proud of the Leadership of His Excellency President Weah and his excellent representation of the Government and People of Liberia at the 74th United Nations General Assembly”.
Ambassador Kemayah said the staff of both the Permanent Mission and Consulate General were aware of the efforts being made by His Excellency President Weah and the Government of Liberia to address the inherited the challenges; and commended His Excellency President Weah for such endeavor.
Ambassador Kemayah assured His Excellency President Weah of his continuous unflinching practical support and commitment of the staff to the promotion and enhancement of the agenda of the President; as well as to success of the Government of Liberia.
Ambassador Kemayah then used the meeting to thank the staff for their commitment and work during the High-Level Week of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), and urged them to continue.
