ICI concludes a day long capacity building workshop in Margibi

The Institute for Community Integration (ICI) has concluded a day long capacity building workshop with Community leaders, and local organization head in Kakata, Margibi County.

ICI is nongovernmental organization that focuses on advocating and promoting equal opportunity for children living with disability in Liberia.

It was aims at teaching participants the importance of giving equal education opportunities, care and love for children living with disabilities.

Giving the overview of the one day capacity building workshop at the conference hall of the Liberia Youth Network (LIYONET) in Kakata, Margibi County a preventative from the University of Minnesota institute on community integration,

Dr. MacDonald Metzger encouraged participants of the one day gathering to engage people living with disabilities through community based rehabilitation approaches, home base education program amongst other.
According to him participants learned the different between visible and invisible disabilities.
Mr. Metzger also said, the goal of the workshop is to trained and empower people of the country to support people living with disabilities especially children.
MacDonald Metzger further said his organization is working with people within various communities in Margibi County teaching them how to care for children living with disabilities.

He stated that he expect participants will go into their respective community and share the knowledge acquire to others community members and the larger society for the betterment of the country.

For his part, Harris Banda one of the participant said people living with disabilities need to be given equal educational opportunity.

Participant Banda further expressed total gladness to the institute for community integration (ICI) for the initiative and pledged his commitment in sharing the message learned from the day long get together.
