The National Chairman of the ruling CDC-led Government, Mulbah Morlu has poured praises on Grand Kru County District #2 Representative, Cllr. Jonathan Fonati Kofa during an elaborate and colorful program when he (Kofa) joined the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) held at its headquarter in Congo Town yesterday, August 21, 2018.
Chairman Morlu speaking further lauded the kind humanitarian gesture of the Grand Kru County Representative, and a learned legal practitioners who he said came to his rescue when he (Morlu) got ill in the United States despite his link with an opposition political party; the Liberty Party (LP), noting, “This man has no border when it comes to rendering assistance to his fellow compatriot,” the CDC Chairman told hundreds of partisans and well-wishers who had gathered to witness the occasion.
For his part, Rep. Kofa declaring his intention to join the CDC, the former Liberty Party chairman said, his reason for joining the CDC was because of his loyalty for the party and its officials. According to him, while in opposition, people of the CDC showed him loyalty despite their diversity in politics during their opposition days.
“I am here because I want to be a part of the CDC’s legacy. When people show you loyalty in a state of neglect, it is good to pay them back with loyalty and that is why I am here today,” Kofa said.
Representative Kofa, After the 2017 election was tipped to be the next Speaker but it was clear that he was not the choice of President Weah, with the arrangement that the two political parties with the highest number of lawmakers will hold the Speaker and Deputy Speaker’s positions.
During the program, Cedecians sang pro-songs of the party as they all welcomed Rep. Kofa, and further called on others to do the same.
