UBA Liberia Celebrates ‘Africa Day’ In Grand Style

United Bank for Africa Liberia on today, May 25, 2018 joined other UBA Subsidiaries and the world at large to celebrate Africa Day showcasing its unity in diversity during this unique occasion.

The theme of today’s celebration is ‘The Colours of Africa: Celebrating our Diversity’ brought together dozens of employees and staff of the bank in their beautifully made best of African rich attires.

Africa Day is an annual event, dedicated to celebrate the diversity of the African continent, as well as to highlight the cultural and economic potential that exists on the continent.

Mrs. Melody​ Ketter, Head, Corporate Communications at the bank who spoke on behalf of the Bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Olalekan Balogun  said all UBA business offices in Liberia, are ready to mark the day in grand style, with unique African-themed decorations adorning the branches; lots of African delicacies and a special ambience to showcase that the pan-African bank takes huge pride in its African heritage.

Every year, staffs in all UBA subsidiaries go all in to participate in this important event, which has become an annual lifestyle for the bank.

Mrs. Ketter added that it is no coincidence that the Bank prides itself as Africa’s Global Bank, because indeed, this is what the bank stands for, and it is manifested in its policies and activities.

A major highlight of the event is the selection of the two best dressed staff (male and female) representing any African culture.

This year David Ojo, head of Digital Banking and Johnetta Johnson of Bushrod Island Business Office were rewarded as best dressed respectively and took home cash prizes.

UBA’s celebrates Africa Day annually in line with the official celebration by African nations on the 25th of May, reiterating its long-held of rekindling the African spirit that drives the group’s vision to be a dominant financial services provider on the continent as it finances Africa’s emergence as a recognizable economic power.
