UBA Liberia Has Done It Again! Launches Mobile Banking Service For Customers

On Monday, April 16, 2018 at the conference hall of the Murex Plaza Hotel in Sinkor was another joyous day for dozens of customers, partners and journalists who had gone to witness the launch of another captivating service of Africa’s most reliable financial institution, the United Bank for Africa (UBA).

The official launch of the Bank’s Mobile Banking Service with code name: *919# Magic Banking & Mobile Banking App brought together representatives from both the LoneStar MTN GSM and Orange whose outlets (Communication services) will be utilized by customers during the lifespan of this newly introduced banking service.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of UBA Liberia, Mr.  Olaikan Bologun spoke highly of the uniqueness of the bank’s new service, and further urged Liberians and foreign residents to utilize their mobile phones with this new services being introduced by his bank.

For his part, the head of the Digital Banking at the UBA Liberia, Prince Chesson gave the entire overview of the services, noting that it will drastically help in reducing the overcrowding of banking halls and long queues for people who are craving for banking transactions despite of their busy schedules.

“The mobile banking service which is in two folds is able to cater to both a smart phone user and people who do not have smart phones. To use Magic banking, all you need is a phone ( regular or smart).By dialing *919# a UBA Customer will be able to, check his balance, make transfer among other available features. To use the mobile banking app, a customer needs a smart phone to download the app from Google play store or app store. After downloading the app you will be able to carry on same transactions from the app” Chesson said.

Speaking on behalf of members of the Board of Directors of the UBA Liberia, Dr. Wede Brownell praised the management team of the bank headed by Mr. Balogun for its farsightedness in introducing state-of-the-art in the Liberian banking sector, and further urged dozens of the bank’s customers to utilize this new technology.
