Gaza, Mar 30 (Prensa Latina) The Israeli repression against protests of tens of thousands of Palestinians along the border fence that separates the Gaza Strip from the territory of Israel caused today at least 12 deaths.
According to local medical sources, the number of injured exceeds 500 when Tel Aviv soldiers have fired at the protesters and threw tear gas at participants in the Long March of Return, which is concentrated in five locations near the fence.
According to the Israel Defense Forces, they are ‘responding with means of dispersion and firing on the main instigators’ of the popular protest.
Palestinian leaders in the Gaza Strip assured that the March of Return was organized as a massive non-violent protest, advocating the return of Palestinian refugees to their original homeland in historic Palestine.
The Palestinian mobilization, which includes the erection of makeshift camps near the border with Israel, will continue until May 15, when the Nakba (catastrophe) is commemorated, the date of the creation of the State of Israel and the beginning of the forced exodus of about 750,000 Palestinians from their ancestral lands.
