An accused murderer in Kansas City who allegedly threatened to “kill all white people” has been indicted in the deaths of three more victims and now faces a total six counts of first-degree murder, The Washington Post reported on Monday.
All of the murders were along one of the city’s popular biking and walking trails or in its immediate vicinity, and all of the victims were white.
Fredrick Demond Scott, a 22-year-old African-American man, was arrested in August and since then the murders along the trail, which had begun a year earlier, have stopped.
Officials have not publicly talked about a possible motive for the killings. Scott’s mother, however, told The Kansas City Star last August that she knew of no problems he had with white people and said her son was suffering from untreated paranoid schizophrenia.
“As far as I know Fredrick never had a problem with white people,” she said. “He would do odd jobs for people and some of those people were white men.
